My Last Holidays

Hello readers!
Did you enjoy your last holidays? I had for sure. On my last holidays I went to my grandparents house in Malang, East Java. I went there with the train from Bandung. The travel was long and exhausting. I think it was 16 hours long with the train and additional one hour with the car. When I arrived at my grandparents house I was welcomed very happily by them.

The next day I went with my grandparents to Mount Bromo. We departed from my grandparents house at dawn and arrived at the feet of Mount Bromo. My grandparents rented a villa near the mountain so we rested the rest of the day so we could prepare our selves to climb the mountain. The next day we drove to the Teletubbies Hill which is located near Mount Bromo. We departed even before dawn so it was really dark and we couldn't see very well if there weren't the headlights of the car. When we arrived it was very foggy so we couldn't see a thing. We waited there a bit so the fog could clear a bit. But with the time it only got colder and the fog was still there. So we decided to move on to the next seight seeing spot which is the top of the mountain. The top is just a flat area. Plants aren't growing much there either.

After we were satisfied with the view, we went back to my grandparents house. It was very tiring so I just played some games and rested for the rest of the day. The rest of my holidays I spent with my grandparents at home or went to some smaller hills like Gunung Banyak at the surroundings of Malang. We also went to some malls and ate together at some restaurants. The rest of my holidays from there on were quite relaxed.

When the holidays were nearly over, I fare welled my grandparents and took the train back to Bandung. There were still a few days left before school started anew so I started to learn gain for a bit so that I wouldn't get too left behind with my studies.

That was it about my holidays. I hope that it was kind of interesting to you.

See you in my next post!

Hello everybody! Today i want to write about an Indonesian folklore which I think is very Interesting. It is called "The Legend of Rawa Pening". The story goes like this:

The Legend of Rawa Pening

Once upon a time, there was a little boy, who was poor, dirty, and smelly, came into a little village. He was very hungry and weak. He knocked at every door and asked for some food, but nobody cared about him. Nobody wanted to help the little boy. Finally, a generous old woman helped him. She gave him shelter and a meal. When the boy wanted to leave, the old woman gave him a “lesung”, a big wooden mortar for pounding rice.

She reminded him, “Please remember, if there is a flood you must save yourself. Use this “lesung” as a boat”.

The little boy was happy and thanked the old woman. The little boy continued his journey. While he was passing through the village, where he had asked for food, he saw many people gathering on the field. The boy came closer and saw a stick stuck in the ground. People challenged each other to pull out that stick. Everybody tried, but nobody succeeded.

“Can I try?” asked the little boy.

The crowd laughed mockingly. The boy wanted to try his luck so he stepped forward and pulled out the stick. He could do it very easily. Everybody was dumbfounded. Suddenly, from the hole left by stick, water spouted out. It did not stop until it flooded the village. And no one was saved from the water except the little boy and the generous old woman who gave him shelter and meal. As she told him, he used the “lesung” as a boat and picked up the old woman. The whole village became a huge lake. This lake is now known as Rawa Pening Lake in Salatiga, Central Java, Indonesia.

I will tell you in my first entry about myself and I hope to open myself as far as I can to you. So my name is M. Fadhilah Sidik but you can call me Fadhil. Simple right? I'm 14 years old and live in Bandung. By the way, Bandung is a city in Indonesia and is known for it's traditional and historical backgrounds. It's one of my hobbies to go sightseeing in this old city full of wonders. I really like traveling :)

To all those out there who likes to play Poke'mon Go, this is the city where you can loose some weight and gain it again by eating the delicious food here (Own Experience :v)

My other hobbies are gaming, reading books and manga, and watch movies or animes ( Japanese animations ) with friends. Swimming and cycling are also fun. Well I probably just like to hang out with friends. (^_^)

My favorite animals are cats. They're just too cute. I myself have a cat at home. I call him blackie cause his fur is black. I don't have a particular favorite color but if I had it would be red or something that way :v

I also like to play music. I can play the guitar and the keyboard. Listening to music is also one thing that I like.

I am currently a student at SMA 3 Bandung which is kinda famous and I really like it here. I can do some of my hobbies in extra curricular too and, I must say, it's really fun.The studies are a little difficult though.
Oh by the way, I'm a guy if you didn't notice. And I'm Single... Well, that's life for you (or rather for me.) Well you cant expect that events in cartoons or animes happen in real life like those over fabulous high school love stories. It's kinda frustrating for me though :' )

Well that's all what I tell you for now. I hope you had fun reading this and that you will read my other entries as well. Please enjoy reading this blog :)
